Business Attorneys Who Handle Your Matter Personally, Start to Finish

When you work with Barton & Bruechert Law PC, you work directly with us. Every call, every contract, every question comes straight to our attorneys, not a paralegal, not a junior associate, not whoever is available that day.

Business Law Is All We Do

Our firm is built around a single focus: helping Long Island business owners navigate the legal decisions that shape their companies. No personal injury cases. No family law. No general practice. Every client we take on is a business owner, and every matter we handle falls within that lane.

That focus matters because business law isn’t a sideline, it’s a discipline. The contracts, structures, and transactions that define your company deserve attorneys who have spent their careers in this space, not ones who rotate through practice areas. If you’re looking for an attorney for small business matters on Long Island, that focused experience is exactly what we offer.

Who We Work With

Our clients are entrepreneurs and business owners across Nassau County, Suffolk County, and New York City. Some are forming a new LLC or corporation and want to get the structure right from day one. Others are buying or selling a business and need someone to manage the transaction from letter of intent through closing. Many are established companies that need ongoing counsel (contract review, lease negotiation, employment agreements, compliance questions) without the overhead of an in-house attorney.

What they share is a need for legal counsel that moves at the speed of their business, gives them a straight answer, and doesn’t create more complexity than the situation calls for.

How I Practice

I came to the law as a business owner, and that shapes how I advise. I’ve been in business since 1996, and for ten years I served as in-house corporate counsel and a principal of a multimillion-dollar engineering services firm. I know what it’s like to be the person who has to make the decision, not just the person who drafts the paper.

That’s why I focus on the practical side of business law: how a company is structured, how it operates, how it’s managed, and how it’s bought, sold, or passed on. My clients have ranged from healthcare professionals, engineers, and architects to accountants, brokers, and skilled craftsmen, and the goal is the same for each. Give them advice that fits the business they’re actually running.

How I Practice

Direct access isn’t a service tier, it’s how I work. When you hire me, you work with me. You know who is reviewing your contract, who is on the other side of the negotiation, and who will pick up the phone when you call.

Most business owners have dealt with firms where the relationship starts with a partner and the work gets handed down. That’s not how I operate. Every client matter I take on stays with me, because that’s the only way I can stand behind the advice I give.

  • Every client matter handled directly by Kyle Barton
  • No handoffs to associates or support staff on substantive legal work
  • Prompt communication: you’ll hear from me, not from a message relay
  • Plain-language counsel that gives you a clear picture of your options
  • A physical office in Amityville, NY for in-person meetings when you want them

Common Questions from Long Island Business Owners

  • What types of businesses do you work with?

We work with small and mid-sized business owners across a wide range of industries — retail, professional services, manufacturing, real estate, and more. If you own or operate a business and need legal counsel, we can help.

  • Do I have to come to your office, or can we meet remotely?

Both options are available. Our office is located at 140A Broadway in Amityville, NY, which is convenient for clients throughout Suffolk County and Nassau County. We also work with clients remotely, including those based in New York City.

  • What's the difference between working with a solo attorney and a larger firm?

At a larger firm, the attorney you meet in the initial consultation is often not the attorney who handles your matter day to day. At Barton & Bruechert, you work directly with Robert or Kyle from the first call through the final document. There are no handoffs, no junior associates, and no billing surprises from staff you didn't hire.

  • Do you handle ongoing legal needs, or only one-time matters?

Both. Some clients hire us for a single contract review or business formation. Others retain us as their ongoing business counsel — the attorney they call whenever a legal question comes up. We're structured to support either relationship.

  • How do I get started?

Call (631) 691-2600 or use the contact form to schedule a consultation. We'll review your situation and tell you plainly what we can do and what it will take.
